The admission to the PGP course of IIM Ahmedabad is a marathon-like process, quite aggressive, challenging aspirants on diversified academic, analytical, and leadership competencies. The institute follows a two-stage admission process.
- CAT (Common Admission Test): The first step for admission is to appear in the CAT exam. It is conducted once every year by the Indian Institutes of Management. The CAT is one of the most competitive exams, and candidates are shortlisted as per percentile scores.
- AWT and PI Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted for the next level considering the CAT score. It would further consider other parameters such as academic performance, work experience, and diversity in short-listing candidates.

2. Post Graduate Program in Food and Agribusiness Management (PGP-FABM)
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture Sciences or related disciplines with at least 50% marks.
- CAT Score: Similar to PGP, a valid CAT score is required. Percentile requirements may be slightly lower than the general PGP.
- Work Experience: Not mandatory, though experience in the agri-sector is an advantage.
3. Fellow Program in Management (FPM)
- Educational Qualification: Master’s degree or equivalent with at least 55% marks. Candidates with professional qualifications like CA, ICWA, or CS with a minimum of 50% marks can also apply.
- Entrance Exam: CAT/GMAT/GRE/GATE/UGC-JRF is required depending on the specialization.
- Work Experience: Not mandatory.
4. Executive Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP)
- Educational Qualification: A bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years of full-time work experience is mandatory.
- Entrance Exam: CAT/GMAT/GRE or IIM-A’s own entrance test (IPMAT).
5. Post Graduate Program in Management for Executives (PGPX)
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 4 years of full-time work experience after graduation.
